Happy Juneteenth!
Juneteenth was first celebrated in the United States on June 19, 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached enslaved people in Texas—two years after the end of the Civil War. Sonoma County Library is celebrating Juneteenth and its early observance right here in Sonoma County with books, collections, and resources on multiple platforms.

NO KINGS
It was great seeing everyone at last Saturday's NO KINGS DAY in the Cloverdale Plaza. Congratulations to Cloverdale Indivisible for a wonderful event! The crowd estimate for Cloverdale was about 500 attendees. Early estimates put attendance at over five million nationwide at approximately 2,100 locations (see USA Today, June 15). View Cloverdale Indivisible's Photo Gallery.
Welcome to those of you who signed up for our mailing list last Saturday. Feel free to share this email and our website so we can grow our membership.
Our food drive was a success with the collection of 134 pounds of food. We will continue to support groups like the Cloverdale Food Pantry and Redwood Empire Food Bank with mutual aid at subsequent events. If you were unable to donate last Saturday, you may also contribute at our REFB online fundraiser page.
